The Letter is a work of Raul Marroquin performed by Anthon Verhoeven in the garden of the Jan van Eijck Akademie in Maastricht during the early fall of 1971
Description:
Anthon sits in front of a typewriter and tells the cameras and the audience about his plans of writing a letter to an imaginary someone, he also summarizes the content of the letter and writes it. At the end, when the letter is ready he leaves.
The letter was performed and recorded in front of a live selected audience.
The 17 minute Super 8 film (transfered on to video) and video documentation (25 min.) is available from Nimk Netherlands Media Art Institute Amsterdam.
