The Letter is a work of Raul Marroquin performed by Anthon Verhoeven in the garden of the Jan van Eijck Akademie in Maastricht during the early fall of 1971
Description:
Anthon sits in front of a typewriter and tells the cameras and the audience about his plans of writing a letter to an imaginary someone, he also summarizes the content of the letter and writes it. At the end, when the letter is ready he leaves.
The letter was performed and recorded in front of a live selected audience.
The 17 minute Super 8 film (transfered on to video) and video documentation (25 min.) is available from
Nimk Netherlands Media Art Institute Amsterdam.

“Luis Caballero Posando en Tunica como un Senador Romano” (Luis Caballero posing as a Roman Senator) Photo shoot in front of a selected audience in the studio of Colombian painter L. Caballero Paris 1973.
The original image was printed in A3 format in an edition of 10 signed and numbered. Collection: “Ulises Carrion Other Books and So Archives” a Second plotted version: paper and plastic 2:15 x 1:20 meters in edition of 5 published by Chrispher Paschall Galeria Siglo XXI and it was exhibited by entreArte during Fotografica Bogota 2009

Raul Marroquin’s & Equipo Movimiento (Marroquin – Wu Young Tchong) live performed action: “Building and Crushing a Body Sculpture” presented during the opening of the In – Out Center in Amsterdam 1972. Performed by Anthon Verhoeven assited by Ulises Carrion.
Carrion undresses Verhoeven who stands still in a classic sculpture position for about 15 minutes, after that Carrion dresses Verhoeven and they both leave the set. “Building and Crushing a Body Sculpture” was filmed in Super 8 and recorded in Black and White video, the documentation: video recordings & video transffers of teh Super 8 is available from the Nimk (Netherlands Media Art Institute) Amsterdam.
Opening In Out Center Amsterdam 1972
(about In Out Center) The First artist space in The Netherlands and one of the First in Europe In Out Center was an initiative of Colombian artist Michel Cardena, the collective included Ulises Carrion, the Icelandic brothers Kristjan and Sigurdur Gudmondsson, Raul Marroquin, Hreinn Fridfinnson and others, it operated from 1972 to 1974
